How to Activate T-Mobile SIM Card (New Numbers)

If you received a T-Mobile SIM card with your device, you can follow these steps to activate it.

  1. Insert the SIM card into your device. Apple phones arrive with the SIM card pre-inserted, so you do not have to insert it manually.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to set it up.
  3. Sign-in into the appropriate accounts and also complete any additional steps to set up your SIM card. The steps will vary based on the model and company of your device.

You might also need to call their service desk at 1-800-T-Mobile or 1-800-866-2453 and follow the instructions to activate the T-Mobile SIM card.

How to Activate T-Mobile SIM Online

You can also activate your T-Mobile SIM card from their website.

  1. Head over to the T-Mobile login page.
  2. Sign up for an account by clicking on Sign up for T-Mobile ID.
  3. After signing in, provide the details such as your phone number and PIN.
  4. Then simply click Submit to activate the SIM card.

Activate T-Mobile Prepaid service

Follow these steps to activate the T-Mobile prepaid service.

  1. Get the IMEI number of your smartphone (usually found on the phone package as a sticker. You may also dial *#06# to find the IMEI.)
  2. Go to the T-Mobile Prepaid Activation page and follow the on-screen instructions.

How to Activate T-Mobile eSIM

Instead of deepening on a physical SIM card, you can easily use an eSIM that has many more features and doesn’t require a physical SIM card to be inserted. We assume that you have an eSIM card you got from the T-Mobile store. In order to activate the T-Mobile SIM card, follow these steps.

  1. Get your T-Mobile eSIM activated from a T-Mobile store or agent.
  2. Connect your device to the internet (use Wifi if you are not using any other SIM cards.)
  3. Those who are migrating from a physical SIM card should remove the physical SIM from the slot.
  4. Download the eSIM settings using this QR code or SM-DP+ Address.

  5. Go to Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan (for iPhone) or Settings > Network & Internet > + (for Android devices). Go to this page and choose your device to find out more about this step.
  6. Then input the following details.
    • SM-DP+ Address: T-MOBILE.GDSB.NET
    • Activation code: [Leave it Blank]
    • Confirmation code: [Leave it Blank]
  7. That’s it, you have successfully activated your T-Mobile eSIM card.
