BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is a state-owned telecommunication company in India that provides a range of services including SIM cards. They allow users to communicate over the vast network of both voice and internet services. With a huge user base, BSNL has been serving the communication needs of Indians for over the last decade. To know more about the service and its SIM card, we are going to dive deeper and analyze the features and functions that BSNL provides to the customer. Here is the BSNL review.
BSNL Voice
BSNL has coverage all over India even in the most rural areas making sure that every single customer gets the best voice quality. Except in extreme weather conditions we never faced an issue making calls on the BSNL SIM card. The voice plans are also pretty cheap compared to the competitors making it suitable for cheap voice calling. There are several unlimited voice packs available for those who make a lot of voice calls and it doesn’t want to get charged based on the usage.
Voice Quality
To summarise the overall voice quality of the BSNL, it is not the best out there but still manageable. The biggest voice quality issues we face towards during rainy conditions. It was getting disconnected sometimes, we couldn’t hear the other person clearly, a lot of similar issues. But during the normal weather conditions, the voice quality was pretty good. In the rural areas as well BSNL was able to provide medicine to voice quality without any issues during the normal day.
Voice Packs
BSNL provides voice packs starting from just 18 rupees. The voice packs are really affordable compared to other operators. Unlike many other providers, BSNL voice packs come with a validity that helps to avoid extra recharges to keep the plans usable. So you do not have to keep recharging your SIM card separately in order to keep it valid. One of the biggest advantages we found with the BSNL SIM card.
BSNL Internet
Internet is not the best thing the BSNL SIM card provides. However, those who wish to continue using the service can use it. From our tests, there were service interruptions a lot of times, so you might want to think twice if you are going to use it for things like online gaming or streaming. But the service is not that extremely bad making it usable for very basic needs such as checking your email or having WhatsApp conversations. Those who just want an Internet connection to chat on WhatsApp and basic internet browsing can still make use of it.
Internet Speed
BSNL provides a pretty decent internet speed, but still, it is not the best you can get for the money. It is not comparable to the faster providers such as Airtel and Jio. However, for regular usages, it is more than enough. One of the biggest advantages of using BSNL is the affordability of their plans. The plans are very affordable and provide pretty good data usage even for the smallest amounts. The rates will vary based on your location. But on average, affordable and provides good speeds on almost all of the plans.
BSNL Plans
BSNL provides different kinds of recharge packages for both voice and data. If you prefer them compared, they also provide combo packs. In this section, we are going to list the plans the BSNL SIM card provides.

Customer Care
BSNL Customer Care is not the best customer service you can ever hope for. Some of the employees are really not ready to help with the issues that we have, but of course not all of them. There are people that are extremely helpful and graciously understand our problems and find a fix for them. However, sometimes, we didn’t even get the answer that we are looking for. So we should say that BSNL has a pretty average customer care service and it is not the best out there. You may or may not get the issues fixed. Sometimes the calls even won’t connect.
Pros
- Good voice call quality
- Coverage all across the country
- Good voice call packages
Cons
- Comparatively slower internet
Verdict
BSNL is a great SIM card service for those who want to enjoy uninterrupted voice calling across India. But when it comes to internet usage, you may better go with other services. The connection isn’t as reliable as other SIM card providers. But if your primary concern is just making phone calls, BSNL is more than enough. They also provide a pretty good range of voice packs to sweeten the features. So, it is mostly based on your personal preference, whether you should go for the service or not.
