Memorizing and remembering your mobile phone number seems to be one of the hardest things. This is especially true when you are using the SIM after a long time or multiple SIM cards frequently. If you are a Dito SIM owner, you might have faced a similar situation. After all, it is not so easy to remember your 11-digit phone number quickly. The situation gets even worse when you need to hand out your number randomly. People who are elderly or have weak memory often suffer the most. But there is nothing to worry about if you learn several ways to check your Dito SIM number.
Though there are quite a few techniques, they all seem straightforward. Let’s explore and learn about them one by one.
1. Check Dito SIM Phone Number via Setting Menu
Whether you are using an Android, iOS, or Windows Phone device, they all have a feature that lets you learn your SIM number. To clarify, this built-in feature can detect all phone numbers of SIM cards inserted into the phone. The SIM card must be active and there should be sufficient signal strength to enable the phone to fetch the SIM data. The process varies from phone to phone, however.
Looking up your Dito phone number on Android
For a typical Android phone, the process is:
- Go to Settings → About Phone or About Device → Status.
- You may see your SIM number here. If you don’t, tap the SIM Status and scroll down a bit. You can now spot it listed under My Phone Number.
- Alternatively, you can also go to Settings and type the “SIM” keyword in the search bar. Now:
- Select the SIM Card & Mobile Networks or SIM Management option.
- Your SIM number should be displayed on this window. These steps won’t work with some carriers (Dito might be one) and old SIM cards. In such cases, it will show as Unknown.
Finding phone number for Dito on iOS and Windows Phone
For iPhones (iOS), go to Settings → Phone. You can observe your SIM phone number at the top of the screen. If you are a Windows Phone user, open the Phone app → tap on the three-dots icon in the bottom corner → tap on Settings. You will see your phone number in the upper part of the screen.
2. Call Dito Customer Care Number
You can contact the Dito helpline free of charge, hence you won’t need any balance in your account to check the SIM number. Just call 185 from the Dito SIM card whose number you want to know and talk to a Customer Support representative. They may ask you for your name and civil ID details for verification purposes, so keep the ID ready with you. The Dito helpline works 24×7, so you can make the call anytime. The helpline number might not work if you are on international roaming.
3. Text Dito to Fetch Your SIM Phone Number
Type HELP and send the text to 185. You will receive a reply with several options. In the text, you will see your Dito number, but if you don’t, reply with Inquire Balance. Soon, you will get a reply in the form of a text message, containing your balance information and along with that, your Dito number. This method can also be used without any balance.
4. Utilize Dito Welcome Message
When you insert your Dito SIM card into your phone and turn it on, you will receive the welcome message from Dito Telecommunity from the number 3349. Besides the welcome message, the text will contain a password, a link to the Dito application, and a Dito SIM number. Keep the message for future reference, or note down the number somewhere you can have easy access.
5. Read Your Number from the Dito App
Dito app is the official mobile application launched by Dito Telecommunity to provide its consumers with a user-friendly interface on their devices. Through the app, you can manage your Dito account conveniently with a few taps. If you use it frequently and always stay logged in, just open the app, and on the home screen, you will see your Dito number at the top.
This method won’t work if you newly download the app and try to log in. That’s because it will ask you your Dito number, which you have already forgotten or lost. Moreover, if you are signed in with another Dito number, again, this procedure won’t help you. The number shown on-screen would belong to another Dito user, likely one you know or don’t even need.
6. Ask Friends and Family for Your Phone Number
If you use or have used your Dito SIM regularly, chances are your friends, colleagues, or family members may have the number in their phone book or contact list. Ask them to find out and give you the Dito number you are searching for. This method works if you have used the SIM actively. If the SIM card is new, chances are, you may have never given the number to anybody.
7. Leave a Missed Call or Send SMS from Dito Number
If your Dito SIM has a sufficient balance to make a local call, dial somebody nearby or send them a text. That way your number can be displayed on their screen or get saved in their call log. Once the number is known, save it on your phone or jot it down. This method will work if there is reasonable signal strength and your SIM card is active.
8. Check the Dito SIM Card Packet
Many providers have the phone number printed on the packet their SIM cards arrive in. Moreover, the vast majority of mobile carriers also have the number printed on the full-size SIM card you snap the smaller ones out of. Observe these two things closely, and you will see your 11-digit Dito number on either. If it is too small to read, you can use your device’s camera to zoom in. Note down or save the number for later use.
9. Seek Number in Your Phonebook
The latest versions of Dito SIM cards come with pre-saved mobile numbers on them. Usually, you can find your Dito SIM number in the contact list if you search with the keywords such as My Number or My Card. This method is free, and you can use it even when there is no signal. If the SIM card is old, you may not find your number in the SIM card’s contact list.
10. Other Places to Discover Dito SIM Number in
The methods mentioned in the article are either free or incur some charges. There are possibly some more ways to learn your number, too. For instance, take the SIM card along with your Filipino government-issued civil ID to the nearby Dito outlet. Then, ask the customer service representative to help you find your number from the company’s database.
