1. Activate EE SIM card: First-time users
EE has simple instructions for their first-time users, whether they’re using a prepaid SIM, postpaid SIM, or pay-as-you-go SIM card. For EE SIM card activation, they only have to insert the SIM card and wait for up to 24 hours for the signal to appear. Users won’t even receive an activation SMS or push notification, only the network updates. Of course, the phone must be unlocked. This also works under the following conditions:

- EE sent you a SIM card replacement due to defects, physical damage, or loss
- You got an upgrade from T-Mobile or Orange to EE

2. Activate EE SIM card: Replacement/Upgrade
There are two cases where you’ll need to manually activate your EE SIM card:
- If you requested a SIM card replacement because of the reasons above
- If you ask for an upgrade to a different payment plan (example: from postpaid to prepaid)

Follow these steps to activate your EE SIM card manually:
- Visit EE’s Activate SIM page.
- Select one of the 3 options that fit your circumstances.
- Enter an active EE SIM card phone number, then click Send.
- Enter the PIN you received as an SMS.
- They’ll ask for a 14-digit SIM card serial number. Find it below the larger barcode printed on the EE SIM card package. Include the last 2 numbers inside the brackets too.
- Wait for the activation to finish. Your old SIM card will work in the meantime.
3. Contact EE Customer Care

Text “UP” to 150 for upgrades, or “HELP” to 150 for a list of services they assist with.
