Etisalat is an Emirati MNC telecom carrier operating in 16 countries across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. It is the largest wireless network service provider in the United Arab Emirates and has launched its 5G network in Dubai in 2017. Etisalat claimed to have the fastest 5G network in the world with 9.1 Gigabits per second in December 2020. The company is also the 12th largest mobile network provider in the world with 154 million subscribers worldwide as of 2020. With such a huge market share, there is a pressing need among customers to learn how to check the balance in Etisalat SIM card.

Based on the company’s official sources, there are 3 major ways to know your balance and validity and they are:

  1. Using USSD codes
  2. Via My Etisalat app
  3. Using Etisalat self-care portal

Check Etisalat SIM Card Balance Through USSD Codes

Users may recognize USSD codes as “short codes” or “star codes”. They are shorter than telephone numbers, and usually unique to each operator so that the users can easily remember them. Using USSD codes is an offline method to check balance, as it doesn’t require any internet connection or smart device. However, you need to remember to dial the Etisalat USSD codes using only your Etisalat SIM card, otherwise, it won’t work. The following are some noteworthy USSD codes:

  • *121# : To check your main balance and bonus balance along with its validity.
  • *135*2*1# : To check your internet data usage and its validity. You will receive an SMS soon after you dial this code and hit the call button.
  • *101# : For checking promotions and prepaid offers.
  • *050# : For “Deal of the Day” offers.
  • *100*mobile number*amount# and press ok : Transfer credit to another Etisalat number.
  • *140# : To check your postpaid bill amount.

Note. Etisalat customers receive SMS notifications automatically as soon as they reach the thresholds of 80% and 100% of their data consumption.

Checking Your Balance Using My Etisalat UAE App

Etisalat operates in many countries so it’s not a surprise that it offers slightly different mobile applications, whether in functionality or name only. For example, in UAE, the app you must download is named My Etisalat UAE. It is an online method so it will require internet data. Here are the steps required to check the balance of your Etisalat SIM card in UAE:

  1. Download My Etisalat UAE app from:
    • Google Play Store (if you are an Android user)
    • Apple App Store (if you are an Apple user).
  2. Open the app and log in to Etisalat account through various available options.

Tip. If you don’t want to log in with your username and password but want to use the app, then there is an option named “Individual Access With SMS“. Tap on it and you will receive an SMS to pay for the service. Settle the cost, press the back button, and you will be logged in.

  1. Once you are logged in, you will see your mobile number, your main account balance, text balance, data usage and their validity on the dashboard.
  2. Note. You can follow the same steps to check your postpaid bill amount. Logging in with your postpaid account let’s you see your postpaid data usage balance in full detail within the Usage tab.

Check your Balance on the Etisalat Self-Care Portal

Another online method to check your Etisalat balance is through the online portal of Etisalat called Etisalat Self-Care. This user-friendly and simple method is suitable for users who don’t want to download and keep the app on their phones to save space. Follow these instructions to inspect your balance using the Etisalat Self-Care Portal:

  1. Visit Etisalat’s official website.
  2. Log in to your account through various available options. If you are a first time user you must register an account before you begin using the portal.
  3. Reminder. Etisalat gives you another option to use the app without logging in, albeit not free of charge. We already mentioned in the step 2 of the section above.
  4. After you are logged in, you can navigate through the website and check your data usage, voice minutes and text messages balances alongside their validity.
  5. Tip. Checking the postpaid bill details requires you to follow the same steps mentioned above.
